32-20 ammo

32-20 ammo is hard to find where I live but did find a box of HMS 32-20's 115 grain round nose flat point. My question is how can I tell if these are for a rifle or revolver? Does not say on box but does have a picture of a man shooting a rifle. They are made with starline brass. Thanks for any info.

Looking at their site, I conclude the answer is "Either."
Nobody has loaded the high velocity rifle only .32-20 in about 50 years, yet we still get warnings about it.

Most likely They will work in both. Flat nose made for tubular magazine like Winchester model 92 if the nose of the bullet does not set out pass the mouth of the pistol cylinder you are good to go an a modern Pistol in good working condition

It's cowboy action ammo. Loaded down to a specific velocity. To meet the rules of the SASS shooters.

I'm not absolutely sure? But I think it has to have a muzzle velocity of less then 1000 FPS, from a rifle. So it won't mangle their targets.

While the label says "Hi Speed", the 100 grain lead bullet load was of standard velocity and pressure.
Remington stock no 4232 is listed under both revolver and rifle ammunition in 1971 Stoeger's.

Thanks for all the info, I will be shooting these in a old Smith Wesson made in 1909 but it is in great shape.

The old High Speed load for rifles only was made exclusively with an 80 gr. hollow point bullet.
