50 BMG action

I have a customer (I am a gunsmith) that wants a custom 50 BMG. I have been trying without much success to find choices for repeater type actions. So far, BAT is about the only one. There has to be others out there. Then the challenge to find a chassis that will fit it. Any pointers?[8)]

MT Guns sells the Barnard 50 BMG actions but you have to request the price:

McMillan Firearms makes a 50 BMG action which I have used on about 10 builds in the last couple of years:

The problem here may be the new owners Strategic Arms Corporation. They have been a little 'uncooperative' shall we say in releasing actions only to gunsmiths or private parties for builds. This nearly ruined Surgeon rifles until they saw the light of day and called many of us to say that they were once again able to supply actions only.

Stiller makes a very nice action for the 408 Chey-Tac crowd which can be necked down to take the new .375 long range bullets. I've build several of these recently and they will outdo anything in the 50 BMG department substantially.

    Best.

Thanks for the reply Nononsense. I have been talking to the SAC people. It sounds like they will sell me the action... but not the chassis??? This is the one my customer wants,, but I want to give him some alternative if they are unwilling to move on it. Sounds like Surgeon is part of the same family now too.
