Prewar model 70
Fazer1

I have been trying to improve my knowledge, weather I can retain it, is another question.
I have read that the prewar models were not drilled and tapped on the front bridge, also that they all were all d&t and as well, some were and some weren't.
Can anyone verify what the correct answer is
Thanks.........Chip

Most likely, from examining the factory polishing room ledgers, he can tell you what serial number. date, and configuration that D&T option started. The ones that were not D&T'ed, used the rear sight dovetail, along with the D&T holes for a receiver sight, for the "STITH" mount, from my understanding. Neither the front receiver ring, or rear bridge were drilled and tapped on top. Although, on special order, almost anything could be had from the Winchester factory.
