Ammo value help

A good friend is executor for the estate of a mutual friend and I have been helping with ID and values of the firearms. She has run across a box of -06 I think might have some collector value, but I have no expertise in old ammo.

It is a box of 100rd. Cal .30 M2, WO4305 MI, Mar. 1949 Frankford Arsenal. I do not know what the WO number means, but gather it is ammo for M1 and the value for post war ammo may be less than WWII dated ammo.

Can anyone give me an idea of value, and if it is worth listing on GB?

The "O" might refer to ordinance......

Frankfurt Arsenal did not completely change M2 ball to noncorrosive primers until 1952. Not collectible, & most folks wouldn't shoot it. I don't think it's worth trying to sell.

What type of box is it in? The box itself might be collectable.

+1 for perhaps collectable to a Korean War Re-enactor.

Selling local is your best IMHO as shipping will be as much or more than the ammo will bring.

It is in the Arsenal wraps, I have seen photos but not the ammo as yet. Apparently there are some unopened and some opened boxes. Sell Locally seems the best approach, so it will go with me to the next couple of gun shows here and to Tulsa if any remains.

Dale, find Mr. Edgerly at the next show. He's usually at the front in the middle with 2 tables of collectible ammo.
