Buehler Ring Code

Rings are marked differently on each half,1 on bottom,0 on the bottom of the other.I have never seen two halves marked differently.Both rings are marked the same,so obviously a set.Someone,quite some time ago,told me,ring #s larger than 9 were 26mm.What say ye experts?

In Nick Stroebel's reference work, "Old Rifle Scopes". He just notes, that Buehler had different sized rings available. For his bases. Nothing regarding, how the rings were identified or marked. Unlike the bases, for a specific rifle.

From this I took it that the rings were identical, other than of course their I.D.'s. For specific scope diameters.

Yes, #10 is 26mm. I have Buehler document that says so.

1" split rings are #6 - low, #7 - medium, #8 - high; HOWEVER, Buehler's idea of "high" was about Redfield's idea od "medium".

#10 is low. I think there were higher #'d ones for medium.
