Looking for feedback on the Sunny Hill REM 700 DETACHABLE BOTTOM METAL system. They use the Accuracy International type mags. Anyone used them?

    BHAVIN,

I think I've used virtually every manufacturer's bottom metal for DBMs that are on the market, except for the Sunny Hill version. It's not listed on their website but Brownells is carry the system. It is apparently similar to all of the ones which use the lever actuated drop mechanism which I don't care for. But Sunny Hill has a great reputation for high quality.

The ones I prefer are the paddle-type release levers such as the R+D and APA. But it's personal preference since there are tons of the lever-type in use on thousands of rifles. I would try each type to see which is most comfortable for you. Pacific Tool and Gauge makes several varieties which are a little less expensive than most of the others.

Most of these systems use the AI mags but order carefully since they make a significant variety for different systems. I have to keep mine separated by rifle since I use AI and AI AX which are not interchangeable.

    Best.

Thank you nononsense. Been toying with this for awhile. I thought it was odd that they don't list it on their site. I tried to send them an email and it was returned. I had planned on this conversion and trying the magpul mags. I may just give it a shot as Brownells has a great return policy. I'll look at the pacific tool ones as well.
