Sako 85 and Talley Bases

I just purchased a Sako 85S Classic and plan to use Talley rings and bases for the scope. Trying to figure out the proper way to mount the bases. I have been told to:

(1) tap the bases approximately 1/8 inch onto the dovetail receiver to secure it and...

2) NOT use the supplied base screws at all. Just tapping them on will hold sufficiently.

Does anyone have experience with mounting Talley bases on a Sako dovetail receiver? Not using the screws seems very odd to me. If you do use the screws what torque specs do you use?

Thanks!

I have had Redfield bases on my L-46 Sako for nearly 50 years with no screws, just the double-dovetail. The recoil of each shot applies pressure to the base through its inertia and they always stay tight.
