7.92x57. I think the WW you are seeing is actually MM

From a bit more research it looks like it was made in Canada for the Chinese, 152gr. FMJ, Boxer primed and non-corrosive.

The Brits used BESA, (Czech), designed machine guns in their tanks during W W II. Strangely, they were chambered for the 8mm Mauser cartridge. Which the Brits called 7.92. With that date 1941, my WAG, is that Winchester Western loaded for them, under the "Lend Lease" program.

7.92x57 is the correct measurement of what is commonly called 8mm Mauser

Thank you gentlemen...I have a correction to my OP... it's 41.. not 44... I need to wear some magnifyers when sorting brass...If anyone has an interest in 34 of these cases, I'll send them for the price of a small priority box....

It's Canadian made 8mm Mauser. It's also boxer primed. I bought several hundred rounds of it when I was a kid for 10? a round. Shoots great.

I can use the brass. I load it for a nephew and he loses a lot of brass.
