Looking for review on a Winchester Model 24. Thinking of purchasing one(when I find the right one). I have no experience with this model and would like opinions and price ranges. 16 or 20 gauge with 26 or 28 inch barrels. Thanks.

What would cause a model 24 to fire as soon as you close the action?

    Folks,

I'm trying to find the value of a Winchester Model 24 SxS with 26" barrels, Modified and Improved cylinders. Manufacture date is 1947. Condition, I would guess, is 75% blueing and "Fine" according to NRA Antique Firearms Conditions Standards.

Have a Winchester model 24 double 12ga. extractor gun that when breached is not open enough to either insert or remove the shells unless you hold down on the barrels. I have ask this before but got no response. Does anyone have any idea why? Gun is in great condition and apears to be a lightly used gun. I have many old doubles and this is the only one like this.

    Thanks

One minor correction to the above post--my 16 ga. has extractors, and I've never seen one with ejectors.
