vz 52 wood

since I cant buy one, I will make a handgaurd for my vz 52. what wood was used for this?...thanks...dr.dirt

    I'm not going to lie and tell you I know. But I'll take a wild guess and say Oak. The reason I say this is because almost all the old military guns in my collection appear to be made of this.You should do something "different" and have a really cool stock custom made to original specs, but out of some really special wood. I've actually thought about doing such, but have so many guns to buy and so much to do to them that its just another thing on my list.

    thanks for te reply, yes that would be nice , but its a pain to get a stock made. and expensive. I havent stripped mine down yet,(black paint) it will be interesting to see whats under all that..dr.dirt
