    wanting too build a lever action 357 maximum rifle ,i have been told too use the marlin pre safty model 94 .any other suggestions and who would do this type of work ? any help would really be apprec thanks don

    There's probably no practical difference, but I've always thought the Marlin receiver to be a little stronger due to it not being open on the top. Both companies make .357 magnum carbines, and making a .357 maximum shouldn't involve much more than lengthening the chamber.
