Anyone out there know the quality/reliability of the Romanian AK47's?

There seems to be some great deals on the auction for these with many great accessories.

I had a Russian SKS and wish I never sold it. Was dead on at 100 yards right out of the box.

Thanks.

I have seen alot of these for sale at this site. They mostly go for for around $350.00...can anyone offer an opinion on this weapon or if anyone has one, are you happy with it? TIA,Conman

First, remember it's an ak. As long as you realize you are buying a military weapon that was designed to be effective out to about 350-400 yrds max-and you are not trying to pick off pop cans at that range with it you'll love it. You can pick them of at 100yrds however.I have several SAR 1's and have nothing but good things to say about them all.I'd stay clear of the egyptian post bans as I have seen some that looked like they were built by my two year old.My Romanian came with the ugliest wood finish I have ever seen on a gun or a broom handle, but a quick strip and some tung oil were perfect.Lots of parts and acc. for the Romanians right now so buy up.I have been watching and I would not pay over $300 for one as they do come along cheaper. AIMsurplus.com had them for $250 but are out at the moment. If I were going much over $325 I would go for a MAK 90 as they are all original Chinese from the factory and not a parts gun like the Romanians.Only problem with having one AK is that you'll want two.
