I have just inherrited this gun . can anyone give me an idea on year of production and approx worth serial # 06xxx gun looks like 95% with two 15 or 17 round mags ( not sure)

    The original run of 92 pistols was in 1976 with an approx. total of 5,000. These had a frame mounted safety, and in 95% condition are worth about $400-450. The second series was the 92S and the main difference was that the safety was located on the slide; worth about $375-425 in 95% conditon. Both had the magazine release on the butt instead of a push button on the side. You should be able to figure out which one yours is by the safety's location. Don't let a serial no. above 5,000 throw you off in your identification--there could be an explanation such as the first 1,000 sold abroad, etc.
