the first thread is locked so to finish this up. I removed more of the stock in the ballle channel so it is fully floated. At the advice of the gun dealer I put in a glob of epoxy to bed it. I dont know how much it is actually touching.
I went back to the range with some "lake shore CMP ammo" and a box of Federal Premium 150 grain ($25 a box)ammo.
I am now getting right at 2 inch groups. Not as good as I would like but better than before.
I will probably try a few differnt types of ammo but it is good enough to kill a deer. I cant afford to dump it at this time so I will use it this season.

    I missed this thread last time,I had the same problem when I bought mine used. All I did to it was clean out around the stock mounting screw,there was a lot of wood left over from the milling operation,shavings, then tightened the screw with cityboy tourque not countryboy tourque. I shoot cast bullets onlyand can keep a 1" group at 100 until the barrel gets hot.
