What is the average cost per round for 223 and 40cal?
I have kept 3k rounds of good brass.
Thanks

    "That depends" [:D]

If your want to shoot mil spec 55gr fmj's on top of H355 using CCI 41 primers, you are looking at ~10-15 cents per round. If you want to load Ballistic Silvertips the cost goes way up.

    Good luck

It's hard to pin down now as the prices for everything have gone through the roof now.

Better figure on atleast .20 cents per rd. You need to shop around for the components, gun shows sometimes have good deals on components as compared to gun shops and the big retail sporting goods stores.

Try this link, http://www.handloads.com/calc/loadingCosts.asp . You will need to know what the cost is on the components you are using. For FMJ right now I am running about $0.13/rd, for my Noslers out of my target gun it is about $0.21/rd.

Bullets are costing my about $67 per 1,000. (And going Up)

Primers cost me $22 per 1,000 and getting harder to find some places are $28. (Cabelas in MI is out and told me they won't get more until FEB 08)

    Powder is still fairly cheap

If you have your own brass you should be able to load close to $100 per 1,000 rounds.

I have about $450 in my loading set up.

I like the Hornady Lock N Load which is slower, but works for me.

    Good luck.
