does anyone know if there is a company that makes a 45acp pump ?
i was playing with my taurus thunderbolt and was thinking it would be great to have in 45acp, with a 16 in barrel, to carry with a 1911.

I'm not aware of one either, and I don't think the rimless case would be any problem - rimless works fine with semi auto & should work fine with slide action.

It doesn't have a 16" bbl, but I'd consider the one a pump or at least slide action 45 ACP.

I think a 40S&W would be better because of the shorter, flat swc style bullet. The 45ACP RN style bullet might be a problem in a tubular magazine but other styles would be OK.
I think the 45ACP velocity maxes out in 10 " or so barrels.
With a lever or pump in this caliber, you could load on Sunday and shoot all week.
I would go for a 32S&W Long pump or lever in a heartbeat.

Well, its the same headsize as 308... and anything is possible, given the money to do it. There is at least one FAL in 45acp, and there was a company that was making 45acp conversions for small and large ring mausers... I waited too long, and while they are still in business, they've stopped producing them. Of course, for less that what conversion would cost you could buy a Camp 45, if one ever pops up at "the right time" for you...

Years ago Snap's gunshop converted a marlin 336 to 45 acp. With money and skill, it can be done.

A Marlin Camp 45 is the way to go with a 1911. Can't go wrong with the same ammo and magazines.
