simmons eight point rifle scope question

My father left me a 30/30 with a simmons eight point rifle scope. I know this is an inexpensive scope my question is will this scope hold up to the recoil of an k98 mauser rifle if I were to mount it on one (It has already been sporterized before I get in trouble for messing up a mauser rifle.)

IF it does not holdup, send it back to simmons to be replaced/repaired. Have a great warrenty. I shoot a lot of Simmons 8-point scopes and have never had any problems with any. There again the largest caliber any are on is 308, the bigger calibers I tend to use a different scope. IF you want a scope garanteed to NEVER knock off center from recoil, buy a Thompson Center scope. Have a warrenty that states IF recoil knocks if off, replaced at no charge. I have a TC 2x9x40 and it is one of the most accurate scopes I have. Only one I will use on the ATV in the gun holder on the front racks. NOTHING has ever knocked it off any even the rough riding I do to get to my stand.

We had one on a Remington 742 30-06 4 shots and it looked like someone blew smoke in it.

Thank you for your replies. Dad didn't use his more than a couple times a year so it worked fine for him. I was concerned about putting it on a bigger gun.
