Is the ammo in this auction the same as a 7.62x54R and is this what I need for my fathers 1918 Remington?? From what I am finding it is, but have very little expierence with military type weapons and ammo. I want to be sure, I have some 7.62x54R and would like to shoot his Remington and $40.00 something a box is to much for me to play...... Thanks

this is the correct ammo for your rifle, you can get military surplus much cheaper (<$4/20) from several places. Keep in mind the mil. sup. is corrosive primed and not for hunting (just clean the bore well after shooting it).

Well, for just plinking around, the surplus stuff is OK, but the NORMA ammo being offered in that auction is great hunting ammo, and considering what NORMA ammo sells for is priced reasonably.
