older colt 38's value Update

I have a I think 2nd generation colt cobra and a dective special both snub nose at approx. 95-98% what would be the approx. value for each of them. they are not rated for + P ammunition. Thanks


I did find out the cobra was made in 1972

    "Generations" were not assigned by Colt, so there is no definitive way to tell what you have. And, condition & originality are not always easy to describe. It would be best if you could post photos.

    Or, check GB COMPLETED auctions; these are fairly common.

    Big article in last month's American Rifleman, on the Colt "Snake Guns". Kind of amazed me? Even the Cobra, which is probably the most common of them. Has substantially increased in value. Just because of the name on it.

    Factory originally and condition, would still be a major factor though. Being the Cobra had a alloy frame. Even a little holster wear, would negate it collectors value.
