1911 barrel feed ramp gap issue

I have an old 1911 where the chamber opening is flush with the end of the feed ramp. I understand that it is supposed to be 5/32". I was thinking about an easy fix, as it is constantly nose diving. BTW, Many different magazines, same problem.

If I was to put a 5/32" shim in the frame, so that when the barrel links back, I get the proper gap, does that sound like a workable solution?

bsrrel link locks your barrel in the slots???

Hello I don'tknow exactly what you have as your problem & my camera is down But I suggest you send a personal email to a member here FORGEMONKEY just double click on his user name he may be able to figure out what you are trying to explain. he does a lot of work on his own 1911 pistols and also is great at showing DETAIL pictures

1/32", not 5/32"....I'll check the barrel link issue.
