AR Barrel Nut Wrench Doesn't Work

I bought a AR armorers wrench a while back and decided to use it on the barrel nut. The teeth and spacing fit fine but the diameter is to small to fit over the round part of the barrel nut which the hand guard slides on???

Believe they make 2 sizes, of barrel nut wrench. Standard is for 5.56, and similar size AR's. Large is for the AR's made for larger cartridges, i.e. 7.62 X 51, and similar sized cartridges.

I have two of them, by different manufacturers, sitting here in front of me. They both say '.223/.308 armorer's wrench' on the packaging and both measure 1.380" ID on the barrel nut opening. The round part....not the toothed part.

    Is yours smaller than that?

Which one you got? My Tapco seems lose. Also with the paint rubbing off the tolerances seems even looser.
