Winchester Classic Sporter sharpshooter info?

Hi, I just picked one of these in 7stw. Classic sporter sharpshooter is what the barrel is stamped. Are these custom shop guns also, like the sharp shoooter model? Does anyone know what stock they used? Looks like it might be a McMillan.

Thanks

    chumchum,

According to Winchester, your rifle is:

    1993 Model 70 Custom Sharpshooter 7mm STW

These were the 'sporting/hunting' model which came out of the custom shop. The stock is supposed to be by HS Precision unless it got swapped out or they changed something. Bluebook has more information.

    Best.

Thanks, didn't know for sure if the sporter model also came from the custom shop like the target model.

    Thanks

Just an aside, the "Classic" means it should have the pre-64, Mauser type claw extractor for controlled round feed. Make sure you feed it from the magazine, not singly loaded into the chamber. It would make a great candidate for a barrel swap to 26, 28, 30, or 33 Nosler, as well as the 7mm, 300, and 338 RUM, if you so choose.
