Winchester Model 54 feedback

I found a nice Winchester Model 54 in .30-06, 1936 mfg., at a very nice price. Intend to use it for deer and black bear and filling a void in the safe. Would appreciate feedback on this rifle, good or bad. Also, can a scope be mounted? Thanks.

No reason a Model 54 shouldnt do what you need it to do. The receiver should be factory drilled/tapped for scope bases.

I wouldn't trade my Model 54 for anything else out there. I have a carbine in .257 Roberts and I have nothing but good things to say. Your other rifles will pale in comparison.
