I have the Norinco 54 in 7.62x25 and is good enough quality for the price paid {$115} I fired apprx. 2000 rd. when the hammer spring housing loosened and started to drag. This housing contains the sear sear spring and disconnecter. It still works fine but the slide is dragging upon manual loading of the first rd. I don't know if the 9mm is built like this, but it is a very easy part to replace. I never experienced any failures and is a good, inexpensive pistol for occaisional trips to the range and reliable self-defense. I have recommended it to people who wanted a cheap reliable self-defense weapon. The frame, slide and all other parts are still in good shape. If you buy one start looking for the insert because it will wear out if you fire it often. It is probably the only part that will. To remove the insert remove the slide cock the hammer and pull up on the slide rail just behind the mag port. You will see The crack between the insert and the frame where the 2 parts mate together.[This message has been edited by oneshy (edited 10-02-2001).]
