I found a single, 6 shot revolver, on barrel, Made in Germany, on grips a buffalo, under left grip, Herbert Schmuit, on butt, LA's DEPUTY. wHAT IS IT?

    that should be "Herbert Schmidt"....it's a cheap german import that sold new for $39.95. Not worth any more now.

    Might have been FIE, Miami or Hawes, LA; if I recall the model with the buffalo was the Buffalo Scout. Circa 1968 or so.

    It's an inexpensive, pot metal gun but the one I have has had several thousand rounds through it and is still moderately accurate.

    I like a single action .22LR so that when I shoot a Ruger 10/22, I have something to shoot up all the bent, beat up ejected live rounds from the 10/22.
