remington 700 bdl

i jus bought a 700 bdl 7mm, and the bolt is not closing all the way down..i dont know why it isnt

    Assuming it functioned properly when you cycled it when looking at it at the buyers place and now it's not, the repair will probably be your's to pay for. Contact the seller anyway and see what he has to say. Pull the bolt and clean it and the chamber. It may be really dirty?. Good luck.

    The usual problem here is, "have you personally mounted scope bases" since you bought it?? Check the screws in the bases. Long ones, if used in the front, are to long, and hit the locking lug on rotation. Long screws must go in the rear mount. Try that. HAWKSHAW

    Also check the action screw and make sure they did not get into the pathway of the bolt closure.
