.30 carbine and 1903 springfield mfg date??

Im looking to date 2 rifles. I was wondering if anyone knows dow to date via serial numbers or by features. the .30 cal M1 carbine has a saftey selector and other than that i cannot say much more.

Not much to go by. All carbines have safety selectors. There were two types, push button (early) and the (later) turn switch type.

You will need to post the manufacturers name, found under the rear sight or behind it depending on the type of rear sight it has and the serial number found just below the manufacturers name.

Serial numbers about the only way to date them. Most have been rebuilt so many times, even if they are early types, they have later modifications.
