Greetings all, can someone educate me on the pros and cons of a Springfield Armory M1 type rifle (Socom 16 or Scout Squad) vs. AR-type in same caliber (i.e. Remington R25, DPMS for example)? I'm not looking to compete in target shooting or hunt with it. I'm more interested in casual shooting and defense. Looks like the SA M1A rifles are a bit more money....do they function better? more accurate?
many thanks,
Chris

This gun here was built with compactness in mind, and from what I have seen with them, they are extremely accurate, where as the M1a carbines are mediocre in comparison.

add a light and maybe a red dot and this gun will be more then any burglar can handle. Bear in mind 7.62 147 grain FMJ will blow through walls like a bb gun shoots through sheets of news paper. Load it with light varmint bullets designed to expand and fragment, and load it to the upper limits of velocity.
