Savage Stevens 15 120 striker threads

A dilemma-I'm going to have some cocking knobs made up for these little darlings, as I have many requests for them.
I finally got a good cocking piece/striker knob off of a working bolt.
I tried it on a bunch of strikers.
Some screwed in beautifully and some did not.
The ones that did screw on are .336" over the threads and the ones that did not are .342".
Way to many to be a mistake.
I don't see any mention of two different thread sizes anywhere.
Anyone ever have this issue?
I may just go with the larger thread, but I like things to be correct.

By "over the threads" do you mean major diameter or pitch diameter? Major diameter is not that important.

you will also find that there are differences in the firing pins that cause replacements to not fire correctly by .010 too short, all differences in manufacturing over the years so it takes abit of old fashion fitting when working on some of the old guns, so to answer your question the strikers are different but close as are the cocking knobs.
just because you could doesn't mean you should
