I have a lot of 30-06 in 5 round brass stripper clips. Have had for quite some time. Wondering if it is corrisive. at quarter points on the back of the casings appear (I think the letters "L" and "C" and two numbers either "6's" or "9's". Assume 9's. Believe that the ammo was manufactured way prior to 1999 so not too sure why 9's. Primers have red ring around them which I have also noticed on fairly new Lake City stuff....any help?

Is this ammo corrosive and safe to shoot in semi-autos.

The ammo cans are marked: 250 Cart .30 (4B 1T) Web Belt Lot 01 FNB 80

The headstamp has the 80 and FNB 06 irc

Someone wants to shoot this out of an AR10 style weapon.

So they have AR10's in 30-06?

I found so via google at $2 a round, I think you could 30-06 at a better price.

    rsnyder.....

I have a bunch of that FNB 06 ammo in both cloth and metal belts. Bought it with my 1919A4 years ago. I have shot it in my Garands and 03A3's. Its nearly identical to US Military M2 Ball. That FN ammo is not corrosive. Should work fine in a 30-06 AR.

Charlie...... Yes a company called Noreen makes them. Saw them at the SHOT Show a couple years ago. I think they also make them in .243.

Thank you all for the information.

It is a Noreen BN36 and shoots 30-06.

For all effective purposes, I personally don't know how much more it gets you over a 308, and I'm sure spare magazines for it are harder to get, but that's one of the joys of collecting.
