Galil Variations

I've been a fan of Galil rifles for quite some time and I'm familiar with the basic civilian configurations (ARM/AR and .223/.308). However, I can't seem to get a grasp on the variations in model NUMBER (for example, Model 372, Model 332, Model 386, etc.) Can anyone tell me how to interpret these different model numbers? Also, are some model numbers more desirable than others?-Thanks
