crimping brass

Would like to know if you are reloading for a bolt action rifle like the Mauser 96 or a Savage 110. Do you crimp the bullet in the brass or not? I know you must do it on autos, pumps, and lever action. And you do not need to do it with single action. But a bolt action with a mag feed system?ThanksSpec.4

    I don't crimp 'em.

Will270 is right for your specific question. An exception, which doesn't apply in your case, is if you are shooting heavy (250grain+)bullets, or at maximum "recoil". The uncrimpted bullets in the magazine could unseat and cause several problems (flattened points, failer to feed mostly).

I don't crimp for this caliber, though I do crimp for some other bolt actions. It isn't necessary, though may make accuracy improve slightly with some loads. Just be sure the bullet is in tight.
