.35 Remington

I received a small box of mixed ammo today. The guy was cleaning up his gun cabinet and doesn't have these firearms any more.

In the box was 23rd of .35 Remington.

The box is mixed .35 Rem and .35 Rem Super (Remington Mfg.), are these rounds the same or slightly different?
I don't have the gun and I am basically unfamiliar w/the caliber.

Not sure what I'll do w/the ammo , yet.

    Looking to buy a new rifle. Was told the .35 Remington would make a good all around gun(Marlin 336). Would this gun be good for deer, elk, bear? Also, is the ammunition easy to get?

    This is my kinda gun,especialy if it has some age,they are a nice slick action,the slickest of the lever guns.I have two in 35 Rem.I would trust the caliber on deer to 200 yards.This,however,is where I get off,because I am not a bear or elk hunter,so all I know is I`ve known black bear hunters to use it,and it has a history as a black bear stopper. I prefer the full length barrels on my 336s.A frien of mine has several,and he has them all cut down to 16 1/4 inch for tight cover and tree stand hunting.To each his own,they look cool though.

    I shoot lots of bears. A .35Remington, in the right hands, can do the job. However, most guides recommend a more powerful, scoped rifle, probably because they are the ones who have to go into the bush to find it or finish the job. THAT is not a pleasent task.

    .35Rem is my favorite caliber for Deer hunting on the East coast. It * it's roots in the NorthEast woods where Black Bear hunting was done right along with Deer hunting;I have Marlin 336's and a Remington 760 pump in .35Rem;Think of it as a 2/3 power .30-06...it will knock Deer off their feet in their tracks;
