Can anyone tell me the possible reasons for a Sigma 9MM missfiring every couple of shots.EX. 3 out of 8 shells will missfire but will sometimes fire on the second try(i know stupid thing to do).Ammo is not the prob, it happens with factory and handloads. Thanks for any info.

i am not familiar with this gun in particular.but the first thing i check is making sure that the slide is fully forward.sometimes the slide will drag and not be in battery.you could also check the disconnector for burrs also the firing pin or the firing pin hole could be burred.if none of this helps have the headspace checked by a competent gunsmith.since this is a rimmless cartridge it headspaces off of the case mouth.could be cut a little to deep.good luck

I owned one about 5 years ago and had problems with it also. The fireing pin indentation in the primers didn't look right so I sent it back to Smith along with several empty casings. Explained to them that I bought it used and just wanted an estimate on the repairs. It came back with several thing repaired or replaced - no charge.
