RECENTLY PURCHASED A COLT SPORTER MATCHHBAR.SERIAL NUMBER MH079,XXX SAYS IT'S PREBAN.IT'S MARKED CMP NATO 5.56 1/7ON THE BARREL.ANY INFO AND APPROX. WORTHON THIS GUN WOULD BE APPRECIATED.ALSOLOOKING FOR AN OWNERS MANUAL.

    I'm no expert so this is just a guess.I don't think colt ever made a CMP rifle. I think what you have is a Colt Lower Reciever with a Bushmaster CMP upper.If I'm correct, you have a custom gun or "Parts Gun" which would have no collectors value, but to a shooter you may be able to get a grand or so out of it depending on what all was done to it.Just my guess, and estimation, I'd definately seek further advice on it.

    I FOUND OUT LAST NIGHT THAT CMP IS THE MARKCOLT PUTS ON ITS BARRELS.

    Yes the bushmaster has a BMP barrel it stands for Bushmaster military and police heavy barrel. SO if yours is CMP then it is prob a COLT military and police Heavy barrel
