    It was officially discontinued, but there have been several distributors that have mysteriously come up with some lately.

    The factory discontinued the P228 series of Sig's in favor of the newer P229. Quite a few P228 remain in inventory at several of the larger firearm distributors (remember when the P225 were selling for only $ 400.00 a few years ago, but list was $ 600.00), same senario.

    The 228 is only being mfg. for law enforcement only.They expect to be back on on the regular market soon.ATF
