Whats the right way to Measure a shotgun, BBL???? Was looking at one to buy, and it looks short, Just want to make sure it's LEGAL

    After clearing the breech (and magazine), close the action. Insert a cleaning rod from the muzzle end until it touches the breech face; mark the rod at the muzzle, and measure the distance.

    Some folks like to be sure that the barrel is at least 18 1/2" long, to prevent any misunderstanding by the fellas with the bulges in the cheap suits.
