I need a Pre64 Model 70 Expert

I purchased a ".458 African" Action. This action does not have a super grade floor plate. It does not have the correct magazine box. The magazine box is the 264.338 short magnum box.

The action is stamped "458" on the front recoil lug bottom. The bolt,extractor and follower are jeweled.

What is this, no jokes please.

BY the serial number date of manufacture is 1959

I believe that all Model 70 458s were supergrades. Sounds like you have a reciever that has some missing parts.

Okay I will take a stab at value I have had more then a few pre 64 parts and rifles. If it had a Super grade floor plate I would say around $1000. As it is any nice pre 64 model 70 action is worth around $500 but being a magnum actionmarked 458 I would put the value around $750 give or take a $100. A Super grade marked floorplate will set you back at least a couple hundred and finding a .458 follower and box will be tough.
