Walther P-1 Build Kits?

Does anyone know where I can purchase a COMPLETE build kit for a Walther P-1? The same thing for the Frame and Frame Parts also please? Many years ago after I purchased my whole assembled P-1. I also purchased a replacement parts AND a complete rebuild kit for it from SARCO, Numreich or another major used parts specialist. This kit had the slide and the slide parts, barrel AND it also came with the frame and frame nonclamture. (However, the frame had to go through a FFL holder.)I've checked GunBroker and a few other auction sites in addition to the above mentioned parts dealers already. Any info and/or links would be greatly appreciated! I built the aforementioned P-1 many years ago and sold it to one of my cousins for a "firesale/ relative" price. This one is going to be for my 83-year old father - LOL?!?! Why he wants it at this point in his life I don't know? BUT I've learned long ago "to just do it" and don't ask any questions.

I would be very cautious, as there were 2 versions of the P 1's used by the West Germans.

The first made between the mid 50's and early 70's had a plain aluminum frame. They failed and cracked, because of the hot loaded Nato sub gun ammo. That was shot in them.

They then went to a beefier frame that was reinforced with a hexagonal steel pin over the trigger. These P 1's would date as late as the 80's. The unreinforced frame P1's, were dumped on the U.S. surplus market. And sold very inexpensively in great numbers.

Never run across, a P 1 build kit. They have pretty much dried up on the surplus market anyway. The ones I have run across recently. All have been in the hands of the local gun hustlers. Who are trying to pawn them off on unknowing buyers, for $500+, as valuable collectors guns. Makes me laugh.[:D] As I bought the same guns NIB. When the West Germans Army first cut them loose for $100, NIB.

You might try to talk to your dad about this. As the early unreinforced frame P 1's. Might crack/fail, and you would be just pissing your money away.

AIM Surplus has imported several shipments of P1 police trade-ins with the hex nut in the last few years. They are now C&R eligible. In 2011 they were $320, plus shipping. It's worthwhile getting on their email list. You can also find them for sale on GB.

I can understand why your father would want one; many of us who are younger are also "too old to take a beating".

I think all those parts kits have dried up. CDNN investments carried them for a long while but are now out of stock:

There is one kit on the auction side:
