I recently inherited the above sxs shotgun. It's in extremely good condition, mirror barrels that look absolutely like new, very minor wear on the exterior (good bluing), perfect ivory sight beads, good wood (normal signs of use and wear) and fit, Hunter One trigger, auto ejectors, and decent color remaining. The only wart is that the recoil pad is missing (it pretty much liquified, but the original screws remain). Overall, this example appears to be all original, never "restored", numbers matching, and in extremely good condition.
I'm not an expert, far from it, but I've noticed some of these old guns selling for pretty decent prices. I'm thinking about listing it on GB, any thoughts on value? I can send pics if helpful.

It could be very collectable. Condition is everything. I think there are new replacement copies of the old pads available.

You can do an advanced search of completed auctions on the auction side after signing up there.

You can post the pic's. Make a junk e-mail account first then sign up for photobucket. Upload your pic's there, then copy the links to them here. Good in focus clearly lit pic's, crappy pic's don't really help evaluate your firearm.

Thank you very much for the info. I do have some good, clear, well lit pics. I'll take a look at sold items probably list it. Thanks again.quote:Originally posted by charliemeyer007

If you list it, be sure to include length of pull, drop at comb and drop at heel. I love the old Elsies, but have never found one that remotely fit me, way too much drop. With the numbers the guy it will fit will find it.

I have seen re-blued examples with new pads asking $650, several years ago.
