625-2 Trigger/Hand

I have a couple of 625-2 that I want to put target triggers in to.
My problem is the hand setup for the 625-2 is different from the other S&W revolvers that I have installed target triggers. (I put a target trigger into a 625-8...I just took the hand off the old trigger and put it on the target trigger.)
The hand on all the other revolvers have two pins that stick out and go into the trigger...the smaller one holds back one end of the hand torsion spring and the hand pivots on the larger one.
On the 625-2, the hand pivots on a pin that is attached to the trigger and the schematics say that it uses a "floating" hand. The hand only has the small pin and a hole to slip over the pin attached to the trigger.
Do I need special target triggers for for the 625-2?
Can I use a hand from a different N-Frame?
Thanks.

The difference between the 625-8 and the 625-2 is that the 625-8 is internally a MIM Smith and the 625-2 uses machined parts. Although the triggers use a different method to retain and actuate the hand I'm fairly certain the hand is the same for each. I know you can use an "N frame" hand from other N frame models - 29, 610, 25, 57 & 657, etc.
Brownells lists hands for various Smith N frames.

I had exactly the opposite experience as you. I'm so used to the older Smith internals that when I bought a newer model (MIM, no lock though) I couldn't for the life of me figure out how that damned spring should be fitted into the MIM trigger - I think it took me about 4 hrs of swearing, crying and praying. Mostly swearing.

The older style machined triggers are correct in the 625-2, whether you want to use carbon or stainless doesn't matter. I'm not sure what change took place in 1990 but if Numrich lists the change it's probably worthwhile.
