Remington Model 11 Stock doesn't fit

Got a stock for my Remington 11. The trigger tang doesn't fit.
Then the Serial number of mine is: 169716. Same number is on the trigger tang too.
The serial number in which this stock was removed from was S/N 536XX.

Info I got:
There are 3 different stocks for the Remington model 11. Type 1 is serial number 1-180,000; Type 2 is 180,001-380,000; Type 3 is 380,001+.

So from what I'm reading it should fit.
Anybody got a clue as to why it doesn't?

Here's the Ebay Auction:

go to BOYDS Stocks they will tell you it is more by type I II III
than serial number at when they changed. Boyds will give you measurement of the TANGS remember it is easier to take wood OFF to fit than add it on

Serial and safety location both point to a series 1 gun.
That, is not the correct butt for it. Fleabay seller misidentified it.

I didn't mention this earlier as to avoid confusion and disagreement with others.
That appears, to me, to be a Browning butt. I say this because the triangle left of the checkering does not resemble any I have seen on the high grade Remington Model 11's.
001_zpskmtkmigm.jpg That is the standard offering on the A5.

This is the pattern type seen most often on D, E and F grade 11's.

I would return that butt to the seller for a full refund.

Browning, Remington, Savage and Western Auto all made variations of the A5. You probably have a stock for one of those that is a little different.
