Long or short Nambu firing pin?
foo

A few years ago I bought a Type 14 Nambu. It was reportedly picked up in the Philippines when our guys were liberated. It has the firing pin but is MISSING the FIRING PIN EXTENSION and FIRING PIN SPRING.
It is a 1944 manufacture with the enlarged trigger guard.
*How do I know if I need the long or short firing pin extension ??
Thanks in advance

added I'm still researching, the internet connection is spotty today. So I would compare the length of the piece(s) you have to the ones in the pic's or (screen shot)that you print. You should be able to ratio yours vs. theirs and get a good guess as to what you need between 2 options of short and long.

I need the maker and also the month (you said '44 for the year and that's the 19. The month is the other number) and I can take one of my Nambu's down and see. It's probably the long pin, but best to be certain.

Put a picture up of the markings on the left rear slide. Ths is the Kanji for the maker. There's a couple of different ones. You can also look online for the name.
