I have a flare gun set that includes a pistol and 4 flare tubes (1 spent and 3 live.) The tubes are marked "1 MINUTE PARACHUTE FLARE, MK. 1" "THE KILGORE MANUFACTURING COMPANY" AND DATED 1947,48,48 AND49(4 TUBES). The tubes are 13 1/2" LONG, 2" DIA. and aluminum in construction. The pistol has a 1911 type grip safety and is chrome finished. I was told it was a Navy ship flare kit and has a dark brown case that holds the flares upright and pistol on front holster. Also has a strap to mount to a bulkhead. Does anybody know anything about these?

I hope this link to picture helps ID
If nobody else chimes in, start GOOGLEing. Use as many different variations of Kilgore Flare Guns, or similar search terms as you can think of, you might get lucky.
...and, that is the larger version of the photo. It needs to be a little lighter (or brighter), and we need a few more views (from different angles & sides), and to see the contents of the case, as well. A closeup of all markings would be good, too.
