I was lucking enough to fine a Win 52B sporing at a bargain price but of course it has some issues. Will a M70 steel buttplate fit this stock? Also does anyone know what original rear sight # should be on this gun. Thanks for your help. Don

The 1947 edition of Gun Digest shows that the Model 52 Sporting Rifle was available with the Lyman 57 F.H. or the Lyman 48F. Both of these are receiver sights.

Encyclopedia of Modern Firearms, Parts and Assembly by Brownell shows the part number for the Model 52 Sporter buttplate as being Winchester part number 2452BC and the Model 70 Standard and Supergrade buttplate as number 4870. Apparently they are not interchangeable.
