We have a MR k de Chatellerault 1837 French dueling pistol Middle of XIX century that we would like to sell. Can anyone give us an idea of what we should ask for it?

As Chatellerault was a French military arsenal, it's very unlikely that it's a dueling pistol.
Need quality photos to help you.

You're probably right. It just seemed that way because they looked like dueling pistols and their were originally a pair of them. It was an assumption by my fiance' not knowing pistols well. I found where there was a similar one returned to the French Government from the London Tower at some point, but didn't find much else on this. I'll post some pictures as soon as I can download them this evening. Appreciate your feedback.
You can post it for auction on this site under antiques along with good quality photos.
Thanks for providing the photos Allison, but we need a full size side view similar to the pistol in this photo, for proper identification and valuation purposes. Your photos are to small and don't show enough of the pistol.
Please try these and see if they are any better?

Your photos are so small and lack detail that it difficult to tell if it's arsenal original, although it has a fairly good appearance.
If it's original it would be worth more money in it's country of origin, then a U.S. collector or dealer would give you for it. Depending on originality, cosmetic condition and availability of this particular model over there, it might be worth into the 4 figures on the other side of the pond.
edit Probably the old world, too.
I have this GB forum info, to the most knowledgeable person in the new world about European pistols. He is a collector and author, not a dealer or gun trader. If he is interested in it you will hear from him.

Thank you for your information. I will also try to upload the pictures in a larger size.

Thank you for letting me know. We just want to make sure this goes to someone who collects or appreciates it. It was a gift from an uncle who served in WWII and that brought it back from France.
