Values of Ruger Vaquero 45 and 44-40

i am considering purchasing one or both of these guns...$400 each.
Neither has been fired and everything is with them
(case/padding/paperwork/etc).

-the serial # of the Vaquero 44-40 is 55-65840

- ...the 45 is 58-84843.

any help in current value and year of mfg would be most appreciated...

55-85840 was manufactured in 1995 and 58-84843 was manufactured in 2004. These are referred to as "Old Style" Vaqueros since the "New Vaquero" was introduced in 2005. The "Old Style" Vaquero is much beefier and accepts any +P ammo and the "New Vaquero" is slimmer and more like the Colt SAA.

You don't say what type of finish (blued or stainless), what type of grips (walnut, faux ivory, etc.) or barrel lengths but $400 for NIB is a fair price. They generally sell in the $475-$500 range for blued and another $50-$75 for stainless with faux ivory grips.

Both have 5 1/2" barrels. You"ll do well to grab them up. A lot of guys prefer the "Old Vaquero" and the supply of NIB's will eventually dry up.
