It will really take pictures. I am not an expert on the way surplus gun prices have taken off, but I read a little on the gunboards. Send me your pictures and I will tell you what I know.

In the collector market, $1000 will get you a pretty good AA rework.
A decent original will be a lot more, but if it has been blued or plated, it is not worth nearly that much.
