Does anyone know anything about the Remington model 341, Sportsmaster? I seem to find myself owning one.

Remington 341P Sportmaster, made 1936-1940, this one was made in Oct. of 1940, and still a tack driver.
Has Brit proof marks on the barrel, so I guess it's been there, done that, and back again.
The Rem 341 was the successor to the Model 34, approximately 131,000 made between 1936 and 1940. The standard model is the 341A, the 341SB was a smooth bore for shot shells, and the 341P was the peep sight version with a hooded front globe sight with changeable apertures. Remington had Anschutz design the front sight.
There is a rare "Youth" model also, down scaled stock and a shorter barrel. I've only seen two of those.
The 341 has a unique cartridge lifter, that feeds S,L, and LR .22 cartridges straight into the chamber, so there is never any deformation of the bullet.
The bolt is unique as well, it has dual opposed locking lugs set back in the middle of the bolt.
