Just bought a cz 452 american down at my lgs in 22lr. It didn't come with rings and I want to get a set. I see rings listed as American and European. What is the difference, are they all 11mm on the bottom? Thanks.

The difference from what I remember is how they are measured. One is measured at the widest part, or at the top of the dovetail, while the other is measured at the bottom, or the narrowest part of the dovetail. Unfortunately I do not remember which is which. Sometimes they will interchange, sometimes not. But the American version had the 3/8" dovetail from what I remember, so best to use the 3/8" rings for that one.

There are several online vendors that sell a rail -> weaver/picatinny adapter, some even with several MOA of elevation built into them. Used on on my 455 Varmint with no issues, would do it again.

The American groove is 3/8", and the European is 11mm. There is a slight difference, and it is enough to need the 11mm ring base to mount your scope. I have used, and done enough of these to know this.

BTW...that rifle is a shooting machine. The only downside I see, is that their safety appears backwards.
